Justus Baltrum 5 D 2.0 – compact slow-burning stove with 5.5 kW
Technical brief information
The Justus Baltrum 5 D 2.0 offers a nominal heat output of 5.5 kW and an efficiency of over 80%. It is designed to heat rooms up to about 88 m³ and meets modern emission and efficiency requirements.
Construction and materials
The appliance body is made of robust steel, and the combustion chamber is lined with vermiculite, which ensures good heat storage and durable protection. The massive cast iron door guarantees tightness and stable combustion quality.
Under a stable cast iron grate there is an ash pan, and below it, a spacious compartment offers space for storing firewood – practically and space-savingly integrated.
Performance and area of application
With 5.5 kW, the stove is particularly suitable for small to medium-sized living spaces. The high efficiency ensures efficient heat output with reduced fuel consumption.
Slow-burning function and automatic control
As a slow-burning stove, the Baltrum 5 D 2.0 is designed for unlimited operation. The integrated automatic combustion air control regulates the air supply automatically, ensuring uniform, low-emission combustion.
Fuels and Ember Retention
The stove can burn both wood and lignite briquettes. With lignite briquettes, embers can be retained for up to 12 hours, reducing the need for frequent refueling.
Operation and Safety
The equipment includes an air-wash system for a clear view of the flame and an air-cooled handle that reduces the risk of burns when opening the door. The solid cast iron door contributes to safe and tight closing.
Variants and Design Options
The Baltrum is available in several versions: black steel body, cladding in soapstone or cream limestone, and a variant with cast iron gray steel and soapstone cladding. This allows the stove to be adapted to different interior styles.
Installation and Connection Options
The stove operates as a room-air-dependent appliance as standard. For particularly airtight new buildings or if required, a connection stub for external combustion air can be retrofitted to avoid negative pressure in the room.
Care and Maintenance
Regular emptying of the ash pan and checking the seals maintain the efficiency and safety of the appliance. The vermiculite lining should be checked for damage as needed and professionally repaired.
Certifications and Approvals
The Justus Baltrum 5 D 2.0 complies with DIN EN 13240, the requirements of BImSchV Stage II, the approval for Austria according to §15a B-VG, and the EcoDesign Directive 2022, thus meeting current legal requirements.
Why this stove?
The Baltrum 5 D 2.0 combines long-burning capability, automatic air control, and solid workmanship into a reliable heating appliance for efficient, long-lasting warmth. Its variety of versions and the option for external air supply make it flexibly applicable.
