Product Overview & Application Area
The EPSR 200 buffer tank is an energy buffer tank from Schönberg with an integrated lower smooth-tube heat exchanger. It serves as a heat storage unit in water-based heating systems and can be integrated into heating, solid fuel, solar, and CHP systems if the system design is suitable.
With its compact storage design, the EPSR 200 is particularly suitable for technical plant areas where heat needs to be temporarily stored, hydraulically decoupled, or introduced into the system via a lower heat exchanger.
Technology & Equipment
The storage tank is made of quality steel S235JRG2, is raw on the inside, primed on the outside, and stands on a base ring. A permanently welded smooth-tube heat exchanger is integrated in the lower storage area and can be used for system-side heat transfer.
The threaded connections are arranged for easily accessible installation. The tank features charging and discharging connections, sensor and controller connections, an upper vent, and designated connections for electric heating cartridges in the middle and bottom of the tank.
Everyday Benefits
The EPSR 200 supports more even heat storage in the heating system and can buffer load peaks between the heat generator and the heating circuit. The removable STS-EPS insulation makes installation easier, as the tank can be brought to the installation site without the insulation jacket first.
The sensor connections allow the tank to be integrated into a suitable control logic for the entire system. The designated ports for electric heating cartridges provide additional flexibility in system planning.
System Integration & Compatibility
The EPSR 200 is designed for water-based heating systems and can be used as a buffer tank in conjunction with heat generators, heating circuits, and suitable control components. The lower smooth-tube heat exchanger allows for the integration of solar or heating circuits, provided that the hydraulics and control are planned accordingly.
For safe operation, the safety valve, expansion vessel, venting, sensor positions, and hydraulic connection logic must be professionally coordinated with the entire system.

Installation
The storage tank is placed vertically on a load-bearing, level surface. Before installation, check the transport route, door widths, ceiling height, tilting dimension, and installation clearance.
The hydraulic connection, installation of safety devices, sensor positioning, and any electrical connection of accessories must be carried out by qualified specialists in accordance with applicable engineering standards.
Notes
Operating pressure and operating temperature must not be exceeded. Before commissioning, check connections, venting, safety group, expansion vessel, and system tightness.
Electric heating elements may only be installed in the designated connections. Electrical installation and testing must be performed by a qualified electrician.
