Product Overview & Application Area
The Sunex FISH S2 200 X is a standing solar hot water tank with a nominal capacity of 200 liters for heating and storing domestic hot water. Two independent smooth-tube heat exchangers allow the hydraulically separate integration of two heat sources, for example a solar thermal system and a boiler or another suitable heat generator.
With an outer diameter of 607 mm and a height of 1,306 mm, the tank offers a compact footprint for heating and utility rooms. The ErP storage volume is 196 liters.
Technology & Equipment
The domestic water tank is made of enamelled steel S235JR. The enamel coating and two magnesium anodes support the corrosion protection of the tank surfaces that come into contact with drinking water. The two smooth-tube heat exchangers are made of steel P235GH in this version.
The lower heat exchanger has a transfer surface of 0.9 m² and achieves a continuous output of 31 kW under defined test conditions. The upper heat exchanger has a transfer surface of 0.6 m² and a continuous output of 22 kW. The actually achievable heat transfer depends on the system temperatures, flow rates, and hydraulic design.
The equipment includes an inspection opening, a circulation connection, several sensor wells for temperature sensors, a thermometer connection, and connections for an optional electric heating element. The permanently integrated 50 mm rigid polyurethane foam insulation reduces heat loss to the installation room. The tank achieves energy efficiency class B with a standby heat loss of 47 W.
Everyday Benefits
The separate heat exchangers create a flexible basis for bivalent hot water systems. The lower heat exchanger can, for example, absorb solar heat, while the upper heat exchanger provides reheating via a second heat source.
The inspection opening facilitates checking and cleaning of the tank interior. Multiple sensor positions support temperature detection and control adapted to the respective system concept.
System Integration & Compatibility
The Sunex FISH S2 200 X is suitable for closed domestic hot water systems where solar thermal energy is to be combined with a boiler, a wood heating system, or another suitable heat source. Connection to a heat pump is possible provided that the heat exchanger surface, heat transfer capacity, flow rate, and required hot water temperature match the intended heat pump.
Connections with 1 1/2 inch are available for the electric auxiliary heating. The electric heating element, safety group, domestic hot water expansion vessel, pumps, controls, and other system components must be selected according to the specific project.

Installation
The storage tank must be installed exclusively upright in a dry and frost-free room on a level, permanently load-bearing surface. Sufficient clearance must be planned for the inspection opening, magnesium anodes, and connection fittings for installation, connection, and subsequent maintenance work.
Installation, hydraulic connection, and commissioning may only be carried out by appropriately qualified specialist personnel. On the drinking water side, a safety valve with a 6 bar response pressure, a suitable drinking water expansion vessel, and, if the supply pressure exceeds 6 bar, a pressure reducer must be provided.
Notes
The tank must be completely filled with water and vented before the heat exchangers or an optional electric heating element are put into operation. No shut-off valve may be installed between the safety valve and the cold water inlet.
The magnesium anodes, the safety valve, the tightness, and the condition of the tank must be checked regularly. The specific tank size, hydraulic connection, and temperature control must be planned to match the hot water demand and the connected heat generator.
